Bucket list

A bucket list is a list of things I want to do before I die. Now I want to introduce you about my bucket list. I have 10 things written down.

1. I want to visit Australia because this is the place my parents went for their honeymoon. Also, I heard that the landscape is very beautiful in Australia.

2. I want to visit 50 countries before I die. I love traveling so this is the reason for this wish.

3. I want to speak 5 languages. Language is a culture and a way of communicating. More languages I speak, more things I can do.

4. I want to go on a trip abroad with my friends. It would be a great memory for me to keep!

5. I want to make great hobbies. I want to make great hobbies to enjoy  in the future as a part of myself.

6. I want to design my own room. I love decorating an d designing. So, I want to design myself in the future.

7. I want to live near a sea. I love the fresh air and the cool wind neat the sea. Also, I love the beautiful colors of sea.

8. I want to hold my ow photo exhibition. My hobby is taking pictures. I'd love to hold my own photo exhibition in front of my friends and family.

9. I want to swim well. Since I'm not good at swimming, I can not enjoy thing when I go on vacation. So I want to swim well.

10. I want to publish a book. One of my hobby is writing stories. I have already written some too. I want to publish them into a book.

My photo essay

The thing I'm going to introduce is my dorm and GLPS life. I have pictures of my dorm room and memories of my first day of GLPS. I also have pictures of rainy days. This is because all my pictures were took on rainy days.


My first day was raining like this. I came here to KMLA to attend GLPS. I was more like raining slightly when I came here, but today, it was pouring. I took this English building picture on August 2'nd which was the 2'nd week Friday of GLPS camp. It wains a lot here. On August 5'th it rained, thundered and the sky changed red, yellow and grey. I don't really like rainy days!





When I first entered my dorm room, I found  out my seat from the paper stuck in front of our dorm room door, room 809. This was when I first came to GLPS dorm 809. I wished that my room mates would be nice and cheerful. It was anxious and exiting waiting for my room mates.


This is the entrance of my dorm room. When I first entered, I felt that it looked cozy and comfortable. Even though now we have trash and slippers, we used  to have nothing. Now it's filled with our slippers and shoes. We even got a yellow card for leaving too many shoes out of the shoe case. Now we are more careful with them. This is also the  hallway. On my first GLPS day, I was really anxious and nervous. Now I feel really comfortable staying here and also when I'm going in my dorm. Also my bed's location is exactly same from my last year's bed location, so I feel really used to my dorm now.





My bed and desk. I like these kinds of structure actually because it's more efficient. It enables more room to put other furniture. My desk is not that neat though since I have a lot of things on my desk.






809 rules. We made then on the second  week of GLPS. They are about basic manners and attitude we need to live together. The rules are kept pretty well normally. Sometimes, my roommates forget the rules though.






This is the side of a wall. These are Julie's drawer. She has a badminton racket but we barely play it though. Julie  is really neat and well organized all the time.l She even cleans the bathroom floor with soap every day!






Sky view from my room window. It's raining again. It's raining every day almost. It rained from the day I entered this camp. I like sunny days much better that rainy days!





Well, I think I'd have to admit that we don;t have much time left to stay together in this GLPS. I  want to come  her again if I get a chance too. By writing this photo essay on my blog, I think I'd be able to see these pictures and refresh my memory every time I want to.

Persuasive essay

Dear mom and dad,

 I'm writing this letter to ask you for something. Why don't we plan a family vacation? I'll tell you why I think we should go on a family vacation.
First, we can relieve stress. I get a lot of stress from tests and studying. You probably do as well because of too much work. I think we'll be able to relieve all this stress by going on a family vacation because we'll forget all about stress while seeing interesting and beautiful scenes.
Secondly, it will bring our family closer. Even though our family is very close and has a good attitude towards each other, by a family vacation, we'll be able to become even closer and have better relations. As a fact, a statistic shows that 53% of youth surveyed agreed that a family vacation helps bring families closer.
Lastly, it will make good memories, We will be able to make lifelong memories to keep for ourselves. As a fact, a statistic shows that 76% of parents surveyed agreed that families' vacations make family members keep great memories.
For these reasons, I believe that we should go on a family vacation.

July 23'rd Diary

 July 23’rd’s Diary

 Today was a hard day for me. After “Opening Ceremony”, this was not actually like a ceremony at all. I though a ceremony was a sort of a festival. I looked up ceremony in the “Roget’s International ’Thesaurus’” but I couldn’t find anything! I’m not sure which exact category the word “ceremony” belongs to.

 Well, to go over, we had Mr.Garrioch for our advisor teacher. Maybe, he will be reading this diary. I had Mr.Garrioch for my writing teacher last GLPS which was GLPS 18. He was really impressive. Especially, his room was covered with pictures and news letter. Today, I found my last year’s PA teacher “Kim Min Jee” teacher, and Lee Kyu Hong” teacher in one of his pictures I refreshed my memories in his office. Well, Mr.Garrioch explained to us a little bit about all the contest sand classes. He also gave out our books. I got a Blogging book and a Mocktrial book. At first, I didn’t understand the meaning of “mocktrial” but I found out that it’s what people do in courts later in Mr.Tierney’s class. I thought our teachers were so nice and I believe this will be the best GLPS ever.

 This night, I went to watch the movies to write sort of an essay. Its title was the “Prince’s Bride”. I’ll write the story later since it’ll take too long to write. Today’s been hard day now I have to go upstairs for the 2nd study period. I signed up in count of too much homework I got! I’ll have to stay there till 11:40~well see you tomorrow!

July 22'nd Diary

July 22’nd’s Diary

It’s been so long since writing my last diary. Today has been a very hard day for me. We started off by taking a speaking test. Speaking test was actually fun. It was like having a conversation with a teacher. We just basically talked for a little while and it was over.

What we did next was to eat lunch,. Our lunch menu was dimsum, salad, rice, soup and many other side dishes.  I was so happy to have lunch with my new roommates that are very kind and cheerful.

Since my diary is sort of becoming a list of things I did today, I’ll bring up a new subject. Do you enjoy reading books? In my case, books are one of things that I can’t live without. I have a book that I really want to introduce. This book is a real treasure to me I bought it more than 4 years ago and I read it more than 20 times. This book gives me information and tips on studying. But the main reason this book is so special to me is because this book taught me the fun of reading. Do you want to know the title of this book? The title of it is “ If you are a women, be like Hillary”. I sometimes wish I had known this book earlier.

 To go back to the daily routine I had today, after the speaking test I went to the auditorium and watched “Madagascar”. I’m not a big fan of this movie to tell the truth, but my sister and my dad are. That’s the reason for having two or three “Madagascar” videos around the house.

Next we ate dinner and now I’m here in front of the desk. I really never wrote a diary more then  a week except the diary I wrote in “GLPS 18”. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep this neat handwriting after a month. Well, there’s nothing better that studying and trying so I’ll try to do my best! Bye~ See you tomorrow!

Creative writing story ( Forest in the Basement )

Forest in the basement

Jenny and Amy are good friends. One day Jenny comes over to Amy’s house and they decide play tennis in the basement. Amy misses the ball and the ball hits the door. Amy wondered about the door because she never saw the door before and the door opens. They were very curious and decide to go in. There they see a forest and little animals. They went deep into the forest. There were big trees and tall grass all over. There they find a crystal and two bags. Suddenly they notice that it’s starting to get darker and darker. They start to feel creepy and scared at the same time. They stop because of a roar they hear. They thought it could be a tiger in the forest. So scared, they run to the nearest door and pounds on it. A person comes out very grumpily and gets surprised as soon as she sees two friends. The person changed their face expression again when she saw the crystal ball Amy was holding. She told them to go in to the house and lead them to an empty bedroom. Amy and Jenny was very smart girl and they notice something suspicious. They wake up very early in the morning and try to leave the house quickly. The minute they stepped out of the door, the house owner calls them in a very nice and friendly voice. They look behind and find her right behind them. They try to say goodbye and run, but the house owner holds on to the bag chain so that they can’t run away. And tell them to pay a price for providing shelter. They say that they have got no money and the house owner asks for the crystal ball. They notice. Amy and Jenny think that there will be some role the crystal ball plays and just start to run. When they notice they don’t know the way back home, they try to ask the villagers. They knock on every door and notice that the villagers are all animals. Here, they find out that the housekeeper turned all the villagers into animals. They also find out what they could do with the crystal ball. What should they do?

"The princess Bride" Movie review

Have you ever heard about this movie, “The Princess Bride”? I didn’t know about this movie until I watched it herein GLPS. The director Rob Reiner made this movie in 1987. I’ll introduce the plot, characters and the genre.

The genre was romance, fantasy, fairytale and adventure. The Characters were Buttercup, Westley, Humperdinck, Fezzik and Inigo. Now for the plot, there lived a girl named Buttercup. She fell in love with a farm boy named Westley. One day, Westley had to leave. After he left, He didn’t come back for 5 years and people thought he died. Buttercup fell into despair. Afterwards she was supposes to marry Prince Humperdinck even if` she didn’t like him. One day she gets kidnapped by Inigo, Fezzik and Vizzini. She almost dies there. However Westley appears and saves her and they try to run away. However they were caught by Prince Humperdinck and his army and Westley was thrown into the Pit of Despair. There he was almost dead but Fezzik and Inigo save him by taking him to Miracle Max. Westley became alive again thanks to Miracle Max. Then the three men, Westley, Fezzik and Inigo plan to save Buttercup and revenge. At this point, Inigo kills Count Rugen who kidded his father and revenges his father’s death. Afterwards, they rescue the princess and run away.

From this movie, I learned that true always stays together no matter how far apart they are and also that you get punished if you do bad things. The person with outstanding leadership was Inigo. He showed his leadership when he led Westly and Fezzik to invade the palace, rescue Buttercup and get revenge for his father’s death. This move was pretty interesting and I would like to recommend this movie to my friends and family.

30 Day Challenge

In writing class, I saw a TED video about "30 Day Plan". A person named Matt Cuts introduced the "30 Day Plan". He said that he had accomplished many goals such as no sugar, taking pictures every day and quitting Twitter for a month. After watching this video, I realized that I could write my own "30 Day Plan". I'll introduce three things I planned from now on.

First, I made my plan to exercise. Since exercising is good for my body and also my growth I decided to do it and set up my goal. To be specific, I will use stairs and try to participate better in my gym class.

Secondly, I made plans to improve my writing skills. One of my weakest parts of English is writing. So I want to improve my writing skills. The specific way is to write my diary everyday and to participate often in my blog writing.

Last but not the least, my third goal is to keep EOP and to use English. To be specific, I  can reach this goal by using EOP in my dorm room and also during break time.

In conclusion, I was really impressed by the fact that Matt Cuts reached those hard goals in a month. I want to reach my own goals by the end of camp.

Three things I know to be true

3. 46

What can you guess from these three things I listed? Well, I'll explain them right now.

First of all, the reason I wrote "skate" is because  it's my hobby. I enjoy going skating to the ice rink near my house. The main reason I enjoy skating is because while I skate, I get to forget about studying and all the pressure that I get from high expectations from people around me. Another reason is that I love the feeling of the cool air while skating. When I skate in the rink with high speed, I can feel fresh, cool air. These are why I enjoy skating and the reason why I wrote "skate" to introduce myself.



The second thing I wrote was "Friendship". I wrote it because it's my pet's name. I actually have a pet hamster and his name means friendship in Korean.




The last thing I wrote was 46. What do you think this means? 46 is the number of dolls I keep. I like to buy dolls as souvenirs wherever I travel. I baught dolls from Yellowstone, Yosemite, Disney World and many other places I have visited. I counted them last month to make them like a collection and ther were 46 of them. That's why I wrote 46.
